JAPAN - Eagles Cranes Snow Monkeys Feb 2012

Our photo tour will again be led by John and will start at Narita Japan and will include snow monkeys which will provide exceptional photo opportunities and also for Stellers sea eagles, White tailed sea eagles, Red fox, ducks, Mute Swans and rare red crowned cranes. When you sign up for this tour we will provide clothing and equipment tips from our previous experiences.
The very rare Red Crowned Cranes will be viewed on land and low level in flight at all times of the day and the Eagles will be viewed from a boat in the pack ice field on 3 different days subject to weather conditions. This is a very rewarding and beautiful area with opportunities for spectacular eagle flight shots. There also will be opportunities for eagles roosting on various areas of the pack ice. We will on one visit to the ice field shoot at sunrise on a special early morning departure to allow sunrise eagle shots. The pack ice is diminshing in this area and is only available during a very short window in February and early March.
A very well known birding guide has agreed to guide for our 2010 tour to Hokkaido. His expertise and knowledge of habitat and behavior of the birds that we are seeking to photograph is very well known. He will take us to a special location on Lake Furen weather permitting to shoot a Sea eagle feeding.
Trip cost includes accommodation in quality hotels some in traditional Japanese style hotelsť, Boat trips to the pack ice, most meals, ground transportation including R/T bullet train from Tokyo to Nagano for the Snow monkey tour.
Not included is air transportation international and internal, drinks & personal items.
Also not included is trip cancellation insurance and medical insurance that can be purchased from independent vendors.
This tour has been tailored to coordinate with the Nagano Snow monkey tour and the dates are determined by the historic pack ice movement in eastern Hokkaido in late February dates to be determined.
